Environmental Science Exploration 2014

For 12 days during the summer of 2014, students met at the Puget Sound Skills Center at Seahurst Park to learn about environmental science.  The content was centered around the concept of ocean acidification, with the beach environment providing a daily opportunity for students to explore the marine environment.  Much of the content was derived from an ocean acidification unit assembled by the Baliga Lab at the Institute for Systems Biology.

Below are links to content collated here on my class website for students to use during the course:

Day 1: Acid Test (movie), Global Carbon Cycle, Chemistry PhET

Day 2: Cell Phone Simulation, Acidifying Ocean Simulation

Day 3: Acidifying Ocean Simulation, Chemistry PhET

Day 6: Beach Park Experiment

Day 9: Phylogenetic Trees
